Nice, a cultural capital

Nice is located in the heart of the second richest region in France after the Parisian area, in terms of museums, galleries and foundations: Maeght Foundation in Saint-Paul, Fernand Léger Museum in Biot, Picasso Museum in Antibes, etc.

Nice boasts many cultural establishments including 18 museums and galleries: museums dedicated to Marc Chagall and Henri Matisse, Fine Arts Museum, Asian Arts Museum, International Museum of Naïve Art. Almost an extension of Acropolis, the Museum of Modern & Contemporary Art and the New Theatre of Nice form an elegant monumental architectural complex on Promenade des Arts.
The municipal and regional library, a genuine live-in sculpture devised by Sosno and built in 2002, completes this intellectual and artistic centre.
