Nice, capital of Southern Europe

Nice, Prefecture of the Alpes-Maritimes, is the fifth largest city in France with 556,525 inhabitants (in the metropolitan area) according to the latest census in 1999.

The seaside city of Nice has, over the years, become the capital of Southern Europe.

But, Nice is also the second city in France for convention after Paris thanks to the Convention Centre complex: Acropolis-Congrès and Acropolis-Expositions.
