Nice, a tourist capital

Nice is the second tourist destination in France, with some 4 million visitors a year, 60% from abroad. The French Riviera is one of the top international tourist destinations, representing 1% of global turnover in this sector with 10 million tourists visiting each year, 6 million from abroad. Twinned with 21 cities on all five continents, Nice also enjoys a privileged situation by the sea, a mild climate year round and constant sunshine.
Air traffic exceeds 9 million passengers every year (40% business travel) and major extension and renovation works have been undertaken to deal with this strong growth, with 52% international traffic.

Nice offers one-third of the accommodation available on the French Riviera: a capacity of some 10,000 rooms, the second largest hotel capacity in France.
